These enterprises possess strong competitive advantages in technological innovation, product quality, and market share, dominating the global market for high-end automotive filters.
1. International Competitive Landscape
Currently, major international companies engaged in filter manufacturing include Mann+Hummel Group, MAHLE Group, Cummins Filtration, Donaldson Company, Sofima Group, and Denso Corporation. These companies possess strong competitive advantages in technological innovation, product quality, and market share, dominating the global high-end automotive filter market.
These multinational corporations also have a relatively extensive investment layout in the Chinese market. They establish joint ventures or wholly-owned enterprises to produce and sell various filter products in China, creating intense competition with domestic independent brands.
2. Domestic Competitive Landscape
Currently, the domestic filter manufacturing industry includes state-owned, privately-owned, joint ventures, and foreign-funded enterprises, with most being small and medium-sized enterprises established through private investment. As of the end of 2022, there were approximately 600 enterprises nationwide engaged in the manufacturing of internal combustion engine filters for automobiles and engineering machinery, with about 250 being large-scale enterprises.
In terms of domestic market share, independent brands have a certain advantage, but multinational companies occupy an important market position, almost monopolizing the high-end automotive filter market. In 2022, domestic brands accounted for approximately 65% of the filter market for original equipment and 35% of the aftermarket. However, multinational companies accounted for approximately 40% of the original equipment market and 10% of the aftermarket.
